Yesterday saw the arrival of another restaurant on our go-to hit list for places to eat in London: Sticks ‘n’ Sushi in Covent Garden.
A fusion restaurant specialising in Japanese cuisine with a Danish twist, Sticks ‘n’ Sushi offers sophisticated, well-presented food that doesn’t shy away from flavour and does all of this in a sleek, minimal setting – a clear homage to the founders’ Danish and Japanese heritage.
As the name suggests, you can enjoy both sushi and yakitori, and there’s a selection of pork and beef options as well as vegetarian dishes.
Order suggestions? Try the ebi bites – tempura shrimp topped with a tangy teaspoon of miso aioli and garnished with coriander and chilli, or the likes of the four wing salad: a glorious combination of grilled chicken, marinated duck, soy marinated eggs and almonds, and avocado.
But don’t stop there, this place is all about food combinations – both on the menu and on your plate – so ordering a few things and sharing between each other is the best way to get a taste of everything and to avoid food envy. Although, the latter shouldn’t pose much of a threat here being as you can visualise your meal in their photo-album-style menu before you place your order.
Sticks ‘n’ Sushi, you really thought of it all – thanks and until next time.
